I love H is for Hawk and have recommended it to pretty much everyone I know. I actually included it in a round-up of books to "ease the heart" in my newsletter!
'Mother Nature? I’m aware of her work' made me laugh. Agree with your mood reading comments - isn't that what reading inherently IS? The book internet is insane. This book exists in my house but is not mine (I think it's my dads?) and I'm not sure I have ever looked twice at it. Maybe I'll at least go read the blurb now..
Thanks for the review Laurel. The book sounds intriguing, something I might not normally pick up but would be perfect when the mood strikes.
I consider myself a "mood reader" at times but also one of your Vulcan-like beings at times. As an autodidact, much of what I read is based on a selected course of study but within that I give myself a great deal of latitude to pick and choose.
In any case, I have added the book to my list and will see if my local library perhaps has a copy.
It's also totally outside my wheelhouse as well - good to leave it, occasionally.
Self-directed study does fall outside of being directed by mood, but there's still overlap, I'd say. At least for me, I know my mood affects the subject matter of study in the first place!
H is for Hawk is exactly the kind of book I gravitate toward, but for some reason I haven’t read it yet. I think I’m saving it for a moment when I’m truly going through it.
Laurel’s mother here: love your self-care…but still hoping to trick you into meditation too.
thanks mom.

this is 100% a dad book, but it was just a very thoughtful and Nice reading experience (not always the case with dad books…)

Hope you enjoy the book if the mood ever strikes.
